Everyone agrees that the transition from 1E to 2E was not kind on the Sidereals. This is an attempt to take the generally excellent 1E Sidereal Charm Trees, and update them using the 2E ruleset. Wherever possible, the feel of RSB's thematics will be preserved.

Ox-Body Technique

The Sidereal gains one -0 Health Level. This Charm may be taken a number of times equal to the Sidereal's Essence.

Unswerving Juggernaut Principle

  • Cost: 5m
  • Type: Simple
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Prerequisites: Resistance 2, Essence 2, Any Resistance Excellence
  • Keywords: Combo-Basic, Shaping

So long as the Sidereal continues moving forward in a straight line, she needs no sleep, suffers no fatigue and adds her Essence to her lethal and bashing soak and all Resistance rolls. These benefits also apply to any mount she rides. Additionally, she is given a preternatural sense for the fate of her journey: if anything changes the need for her travel, she becomes aware of this, and may roll Perception + Awareness (Fate) to gain insight into what the change might be.

Forward-Thinking Technique

This Charm includes all the benefits and drawbacks of Unswerving Juggernaut Principle, and adds the character's Essence to her Dodge DV and adds her Essence in automatic successes to any Survival or Stealth roll used to cover or disguise her tracks, so long as she continues travelling in a straight line.

Optimistic Security Practice

  • Prerequisites: Resistance 2, Essence 1

The Sidereal adds her Essence to her Lethal, Bashing and Aggravated Soak, as well as her Hardness. Any creature with an Essence lower than her Compassion must spend one Willpower point each time they attempt to attack her, or the attack automatically fails. This Charm is incompatable with armor.

Unwavering Well-Being Meditation

  • Cost: 2m
  • Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Prerequisites: Resistance 3, Essence 2

The Sidereal adds her Essence to her Lethal, Bashing and Aggravated Soak, as well as her Hardness. Any creature with an Essence lower than her Temperance must spend one Willpower point in response to this Charm's activation, or the attack automatically fails. This Charm is compatable with armor.

Heartless Maiden Trance

  • Prerequisites: Resistance 4, Essence 2, Optimistic Security Practice, Unwavering Well-Being Meditation

The Sidereal swallows her heart, stopping her natural biological processes. She no longer suffers penalties or damage from diseases, poisons, hunger, thirst, environmental effects, wound penalties, Crippling or Amputation effects, or being Stunned or Incapacitated. While under its effects, she Perfectly succeeds any Resistance rolls. Until her last Dying health level is filled in, she operates as a picture of health. She does not regain Essence while this Charm is engaged.

Someone Else's Destiny

The character may activate this Charm when exposed to a drug or poison. The drug's effects are suspended within the Loom of Fate, and do not take effect. The next time the Sidereal successfully attacks another character (dealing at least 1L damage), the drug's effects transfer to that target as a Shaping effect and begin to take effect immediately.

Falling Mast Defense

  • Type: Reflexive (Step 8)

  • Prerequisites: Resistance 3, Essence 3, Someone Else's Destiny

The character may activate this Charm when an attack successfully damages her. She rolls Dexterity + Resistance, with every 2 successes allowing one Health Level of damage to be applied to the attacker or one of his allies, instead of the Sidereal. This transfer of damage is a Shaping effect.

Storm's Eye Stance

The Sidereal activates a Prayer Strip with the Scripture of the Eternal Maiden, which rises slowly into the air and floats above her head. Yellowish light slowly circles around her, like the reflections cast off storm-clouds in the center of a hurricane. For the rest of the scene, the Sidereal may reflexively spend 3 motes and 1 lethal health level during Step 9 of attack resolution to transfer the effects of one attack upon her to someone else who is actively engaged in combat with or against her. This is considered a Shaping effect and a Counterattack. Attacks against the Prayer Strip are not considered attacks against the Sidereal, and thus may not be re-directed.

Ordained Bridle of Mercury

This Charm allows the instant purchasing of a single dot in the Familiar background, which may only be applied towards an animal that the Sidereal can ride.

Spirit-Shape Companion

This Charm transforms the character's Familiar into a small God, gaining a permanent Essence of 2, Intelligence 2, and 15 bonus points to spend on further Traits and Charms appropriate to a small terrestrial God.

Godly Companion

This Charm promotes a Familiar already endowed with Spirit-Shape Companion, granting them a permanent Essence of 3, Intelligence 3, and 20 bonus points to spend on further Traits and Charms.

Breaking the Wild Mortal

Yellow Path

This Charm allows the Sidereal to cut a significant amount of time off of a journey. The Sidereal rolls her Essence. At one success, the journey's time is reduced to 75% its normal travel time. At three successes, a path is revealed that will allow the Sidereal to arrive ahead of any pressing deadline, with further successes reducing the amount of complications and sacrifices that must be made to follow that path.

Glory Path

  • Prerequisites: Ride 3, Essence 2, Yellow Path

This Charm multiplies the Sidereal's speed of travel by her Essence, and allows her to ignore any environmental penalties to her Ride rolls.

Riding the Dragon

This Charm transforms one of the Sidereal's Acquaintances into an Elemental Dragon for one scene. At the end of the scene, it transforms back into a mortal, his mind destroyed by the process. The Sidereal may transform a mortal permanently into an Elemental Dragon by expending 10xp while invoking this Charm, gaining the Dragon as a 3-dot Ally.

Crimson Palm Counterstrike

This Charm operates using the rules on pg. 182 of the Second Edition Sidereals corebook, aside from being a Brawl Charm and thus glowing red instead of purple.

Tolerant Strife

The Sidereal ties a prayer strip of the Scripture of the One-Handed Maiden to his wrist, where it glows and drips blood-red. For the remainder of the scene, the Vizier may spend one lethal health level each time he successfully strikes an opponent, during Step 8 of combat resolution. Doing so converts all damage dice into automatic health levels of damage.

The character must name a goal while committing the Essence to this Charm. While in pursuit of that goal, any attempt to pursue a goal other than the one named automatically fails, and any attempt to attempt an act not directly and purely related to the goal suffers a -3 internal penalty. On the other hand, the character heals one bashing wound level per tick; if all bashing damage has been healed, the character heals one lethal health level per action. When all bashing and lethal damage is healed, the character heals one aggravated health level per hour. Damage sustained before the invocation of this Charm will not be healed by this charm, but will heal at the normal rate when this Charm ends.

Terrestrial Martial Initiation

This Charm allows a Sidereal to learn Terrestrial Martial Arts. Additionally, once he knows a full Terrestrial Martial Arts Style, he may learn a Prayer Strip that perfectly incorporates that Style's methodology and philosophy. What this Strip says, and what it does, is different from Style to Style.

Celestial Martial Initiation

  • Type: Permanent

This Charm allows a Sidereal to learn Celestial Martial Arts. Additionally, once he knows a full Celestial Martial Arts Style, he may learn a Prayer Strip that perfectly incorporates that Style's methodology and philosophy. What this Strip says, and what it does, is different from Style to Style.

This Charm allows a Sidereal to learn Sidereal Martial Arts. Additionally, once he knows a full Sidereal Martial Arts Style, he may learn a Prayer Strip that perfectly incorporates that Style's methodology and philosophy. Each Sidereal Martial Art has a prayer strip which is created as the Style is created, and is learned by the student as she learns the Style.
